Bargain Town June 19th
My dear Brother
I have been sick or I should have
reminded thee before now of my being in the land of the
living. I have had a slight attack of liver complaint
but have quite recovered now. only to be taken down
again I fear in a few days or weeks at farthest most
I do not have much good health[ . ]
x

Supplied

Reason:
we have just had a
very interesting Camp meeting, because there were many genteel
people there, and I had none of the fatigue of entertaining them
Yet had the advantage of their society. We have most intolerable
hot weather and very dry[ . ]
x

Supplied

Reason:
No gardens scarcely.
You have probably heard of Papa’s

isn nearly used up by the voracious
mosquitos. dear little fellow you would not know him
he has grown so perverse, but still he is very sweet, begins to talk
some. business is very dull and so are we and what’s worse
no hopes as I can see of Peoples getting sick . I wish
you could all come down & stay awhile & cheer up our
spirits, dont your health require sea Bathings?
