Trenton, N.J. Mar 1st, 1841.
My Dear Sir,
I have the pleasure to
present to your acquaintance the Honorable
William Halsted
Name: William Halstead
Birth: 1794-06-04
Death: 1878-03-04
Representative in Congress,
from this State. Mr Halsted has some
business with your Legislature.
When I remind you that in addition to
his high standing at the bar and as a gentleman,
Mr Halsted is a whig, after your own
heart, and one of the successful defenders of
the Brood Seal. It would seem quite
unnecessary to add another word to secure
to him every facility and attention in your
power to give.
Very faithfully yours
Mr. D. Canfield
W.H. Seward Esq.
