health as heretofore. For several
days he has had a severe cough
which seems to exhaust his
strength, he cough a great deal
without raising but very little
Yesterday afternoon his ap-
pearance was very bad, his hands
and feet assumed a purple colour
his eyes were much coloured and
watery, his appetite has been quite
indifferent & and his he was weak
He talked a great deal to him-
self and to different persons and
on a variety of subjects.
His respiration was broken
and msome times difficult, he refuses
often to take his accustomed
stimulants and in less quantities

which is good that of his

have left very much
If there should be any-

a very bad night, very feeble

If it were any other person
I should think that he
would not long survive
the time he has. The Dr
says he baffles all calcu-
lation, he appeared much
better yesterday afternoon
through the night very bad
because cold and suffered
much pain. this morning
he seems much better
and wants to get up
