Editorial Note

reached me safely a day or two
since and I am much obliged for them.
I had half a mind last night to telegraph
you to come up to our "Hop" Wednesday evening
& send George
Unknown
after you. My staff which
consists of about a dozen Officers have a
Hop once a week at my Head qrs and
I can assure you we have a very pleasant
time, there are a number of the Officers wives
here & several young ladies. the weather was
however so bad that I thought you would not be
able to come. if you would like to come to
some of the hops hereafter I can send George
after you and I think you could have a
very pleasant time coming up one day and
returning the next. I do not consider that
there is any danger traveling on the RR in the
daytime
Your affectionate brother
Will
