My dear Mrs Seward,
“Unfortunate dress!” you will reiter -
ate when I tell you Stewart

has none of the silk remain-
ing. I was referred to Arnold & Hearn but they too had
sold all. I shall retain your pattern and look more faith-
fully in other places. I thank you for the commission, small
as it is. It evinces faith in my professions of a desire to
be made useful. I regret to hear of the complete failure
of Fredericks
