Watertown, Feb 12. 1849
My dear Mrs Seward
May I presume to request the
favour that if your husband
home, you will let us know, I cannot
express to you the pleasure I feel in have
-ing a senator from our own state so
so eminently qualified to the dignified
station as your husband, I feel that
the country is the portion to receive
congratulation. I trust and hope you
are well,
With sentiments of great respect
esteem and friendship
