My dearest Jenny
I have your letter of
the 25th and also a note from Mother
that she thinks of going home next week. Father
& she have been talking of coming up here to see
me & possibly may do so before she goes home.
The more I have thought about your coming
down here the more I am pleased with the idea
I think if I should stay as long as the 1st
of Feby you could come down with the boy
as well as not & spend two or three weeks with
me very pleasantly. You could leave Nelly
either grandmother
down with you & leave her with my mother. Capt
Knowles
arrangement & will bring his wife
when you can come, our house is a large one
and with a little furniture could be made very
comfortable. By that time I presume I shall
have more troops here so that it will be
perfectly safe. Willie would be as old as
Nelly was when you came to Ft Mansfield
