Dear Mother,
I did not know until a few days
since of your return to Florida, I have suffered
great anxiety thinking you must one or both
be very ill or certainly Julia Ann
written, but I have much to be thankful for
I was confined on the 15th Inst, after a rather
more tedious time than usual, I got along tho’
for the first week very comfortably - the day
my baby was a week old I was taken very
suddenly ill, and was worse than I had
been at all, but am comfortable again so
as to sit up a little only suffering great
debility consequent on a heavy loss of blood,
but, I have been very much favored under
all these circumstances, with good luck
and an excellent kind nurse & my husband
has scarce left my atall.
I thought you would be very anxious to hear or I
could not have written now
Yours as ever Cornelia
I will write soon again
