I was most unexpectedly gratified on Tues-

, oh I cannot tell
you how happy I was to see him once more, and now I obo
know that he loves me still I cannot be almost reconciled
to the idea if I never should see him again. You never
can know how unhappy it has made me that I must live
in ignorance of all that concerned you. I feel as if I
could never forgive myself for questioning the purity of his
motives – but he does and I pray you to do the same.
I never was happier than to hear and know how you all did

I could never
hear anything about them until Henry came. I can see
their little frollics and think of them with a mournful
pleasure – my little Augustus

belief that all things are wisely ordered both for his and our
everlasting good.
Henry staid two days with us, a short time but we
could not urge him to prolong his stay from you. I wish d
you could have been with him – he left here on Wed last
for Phila
