My Dear Henry
In giving you a few days time
a short detail of the proceedings in the
O.C. Road I omited one point that has
since struck my recollection, viz. that
it was long after the laying of the road by the Judges and
the return was regularly made into the Town Clerks
Office — and not untill a portion of the owners
of the land had elected to have their damage

will no doubt recollect this still I
thought
it not improper to mention it. It would seem
to me that after these proceedings had taken place it
was too late to call in question the proceedings of the
Judges, if in fact they had a right to do it at all.
The Law seems to be pretty conclusive that the doings
of the Judges shall be final and conclusive in all
cases where they are appealed to from the doings
of the Coms of highways—
Will you write and let me
know whether this cause will be heard at the
Feb. Term—

so much so that I thought seriously of sending for
you down to take charge of my affairs but am
