My dear Henry & Francis

As the time approaches where we
shall have expected the Icey bonds of the Hudson
to have given way and the navigation become
pleasant we are daily more anxious for the
arrival of our dear little Flock. Will you have
the goodness to write on the receipt of this how the
health of all are, and where and how we may
expect you. Shall we meet you at the Orange
Hotel on a day certain with sufficient
conveyance to ensure you safe to Florida[ . ]
Reason:
If so what amount will be necessary. You
must recollect that your comfort and
conveniance will be our pleasure.
A few days since the weather was pleasant
as Summer. The grass green birds singing
and everything indicated an early spring[ . ]
Reason:
A storm with tremendious thunder and
lightning ensued and now the Earth is covered
with snow. The cold and frost equal to January.
Lest you should be desappointid when
you meet your broken down parents
it may not be improper to state that Ma
