states that he is hanging on at his agency-feeble
as death-weights 110 I have written to him
again to return. Ma's indisposition and the
imbarised situation of my business makes me
fear we shall not get to Auburn before harvest.
I have for the first time this season been on
our Meadow lands this week and am more
than ever convinsed of the importance of our
Supreme Court suit. And hope you will
not fail attending to it in person. And
if necessary employing still further counsel
for if this suit fails it will probably be many
years before we shall get access to those lands[ . ]

Reason:

The timber will be pilfered and destroyed
and the land unproductive. If amending
the return on our side is necessary I pray
you to have it done.
Affectionately Yours
