I have Just returned home after 6 day
absence 5 of which at the Newburgh

in New York. Yours of the Seventh and Ninth are
before me. I hope for your benefit your West
friends will cheerfully [ acquies ]

think you will derive as a Literary Man.
I have much business to dispach but am making
every exertion to get through and spend two
or three weeks in New York
