Auburn September 4th 1837.
My dear Jennings,
I wrote you on Saturday, and also yesterday
in answer to your letter in relation to the Lumberman’s Bank[ . ]
Reason:
Lest I might not be misunderstood, I add to the substance
of what I wrote on that subject that I will now as
always consent to any arrangement you may make for
the taking the Lumberman’s bills predicated upon their redemp-
tion promptly at 60 days. The security for their redemption
to be ample, and the arrangement not to continue after default.
I have received a favorable letter from Dr. Macaulay
