My Dear Sir,
I am at a loss here to express my sense
of the kindness of your letter. You say you are
grateful to me for making my little troubles known
to you, and sure I am that nothing you could have
said would have gone deeper into the warmest
place in my heart.
I was aware that my application might be
embarrassing, just at this time, but I did not
expect it to be acted on at once, if favorably
received. After election will do just as well.
