an artist here is making a bust of me in plaister
of Paris, as he has done of all my predecessors in my present
place. He will make several copies. They will be very per-
fect likenesses. He remunerates himself by the sale of the
copies. I suppose at about $10.00. Shall I direct him
to pack one in a box for you. and will you present one
also to our affectionate

. I seek to throw
the expense upon you because while I should be pleased
to have the mementos in the families nearest to me, I am
compelled to close economy.
Your’s affectionately
