My dear Jennings
I have written you a letter in which this is in-
closed, which will show what is important to be done while in
N. York.
As to the negotiation for the exchange of the wild lands & having in-
cumbrances it is not needful and was not intended to press it fur-
ther than to communicate it to Mr Duer
Name: John Duer
Birth: 1782-10-07
Death: 1858-08-08
– provide for $15,000 tas a
temporary means of making it at home until in the spring and summer
I could complete it at my leisure. And in case of his absence
from the city secure such a substitution as would enable me to
complete it.
There is no pressure about the premaining $10,000 – say to Mr Blatchford
Name: Richard Blatchford
Birth: 1798-04-28
Death: 1875-09-04
that at the most I shall not need it until I can attend ^to it^ in person –
further than that if I shall be delayed here until May I may devise
to draw for $5,000 in addition to the funds you sent me. For that
amount the certificates I have already sent will be sufficient and
if not I will provide reasonably by sending more.
I am aware and was well aware when you went of the
dilatory doubting manner you would encounter – but am not fearful
of the event. I know Mr D's solicitude to have the matters attended
to and yet know that he would probably never prepare his papers
for the business, so that I have now no great expectation that you
will accomplish even that which the intent of the Trust Co re-
quires and he is so impatient to secure. But in regard to this as
all other business I wish you to wait his time and consult his views
and feelings – doing what he will permit – and when you have leave of
absence return, the business being finished or unfinished.

to be exchanged. And G. B. Throop

is a very right person
to be a judge of it.
With especial regards and thanks to Mr Blatchford I am
sincerely yours
