My Dear Uncle,
Mr Schuyler A. Stowel of Syracuse

and wishes to know if you will be able to attend to his
suit, which is to be brought on, on the 3rd Monday of
October, at Syracuse.
A year ago this fall, you wrote Mr Stowel
that you thought you would be able to assist
him if his cause should be heard then. The cause
went over. He now has the assurances of the District
Attorney that his cause will be brought on at the
ensuing term.
Mr Stowel is charged with perjury and
has been confined in jail to await his trial. He was
taken from the jail to Insane Asylum, and from
thence remanded to jail. His troubles have dismem-
bered his family, and carried his wife to her grave.
He is now at liberty upon bail of $300.
If you could address Mr Stowel upon this
subject, and inform him of the possibility of your
being able to attend to his case, you would much
oblige him & your.
