Southern Central Railroad,
TREASURERS' OFFICE,
Auburn, N.Y. Oct 24 1867
My dear Father
I intended to
speak to you while at home
but forgot all about buying
the building in which my
Bank is located. As the Bank
is likely to stay there as long
as it is in existance it would
perhaps be well for me to own
the building It now pays rent
under 3 years lease from last May
of $950 per annum. Should
you approve of such an
arrangement I will buy the
building at $10,000 pay $1,000 down
and give Mtg for $9000 payable
$1000 each year for 9 years.
I have as yet no answer from
Choate seward-editorial-note either John Choate or Thomas Choate
