Biography:
After attending public schools and working at sea, Garrow moved to Auburn, NY (then a very small village) in 1796. He was appointed Justice of the Peace in 1809 and was the sheriff of Cayuga County from 1815-1819 and 1821-1825. He was a US representative in the 20th Congress from 1827-1829. He was then the US Marshal for the northern district of NY from 1837 until his death.
Garrow married Amarilous Dunning in 1802. He had one son, John Garrow (1804-1882).
President of Cayuga County Bank from 1833 to 1839.
