Father of Henry Reed Rathbone, who grappled with John Wilkes Booth in Ford's Theatre, April 14, 1865.
Rathbone's memorial is considered to be "a counterpart to the tomb of Scipio."

Rathbone and WHS visit many places and people in Albany after Seward loses his first race for governor, and Rathbone introduces his new wife to WHS.
