Biography: 
Henry H. Van Dyck (September 3, 1809 — January 22, 1888) was an American newspaper publisher, financier and politician from New York. He was the son of Dr. Henry Lawrence Van Dyck and Catherine Van Dyck. Henry H. Van Dyck was a member of the New York State Senate from 1837 to 1840. He was a newspaperman from 1840 until 1856 when he began his political career. Van Dyck married twice, first to Eliza A. Clark and they had one child, then to Frances Augusta Kelly in 1864 and they had six children. In 1865, he was appointed by Abraham Lincoln to be Assistant United States Treasurer in New York. After that term was over, he became President of the New York and Boston Railroad. In 1888 he died at his home in Brooklyn. Henry H. Van Dyck was mentioned in 18600817FWS_WHS.
