William Philip Robinson was a Government Official and a Newspaper Correspondent. He was born June 18, 1834 in Westerly, Rhode Island and died in 1921. In Auburn, New York, on December 25, 1856 he was married to Louise E. Smith, who was born on August 26, 1836 in Aurelius, New York, the daughter of William C. Smith of Aurelius, New York. She died in 1920. Their children were: Julia Robinson (1858 - 1956), Charles Dwight Robinson (1860 - 1928), Mary Ann Robinson (1862 - 1921), Francis Bradley Robinson (1864 - 1925), Margaret Robinson (1867 - 1867), Frederick William Robinson (1868 - 1965), Agnes Robinson (1876 - 1953).
