Biography: Although in his obituary, Alvah is heralded as a beneficial and contributing member of society, his other reputation is rather disparaging. Frances Seward never got along well with Worden because he abused (we aren't sure of the extent of this abuse) Frances Chesbro (his daughter) and Lazette. Lazette often appeals to Frances for help from Worden in her letters. References in the family correspondence suggest that Worden was violent and a poor money manager.
